The one that got in my hair

Quick phone pick of a bee that visited my head today and then had to take a moment recovering on the wall. Poor beggar. I don't recommend visiting my head - it's a messy place. I wish I'd managed to take a better photo of it though.

I also saw my first bumble bee today. Whoop!

I spent all day outside again, today: digging, planting, moving, thinking, pruning, chopping, squidging. My arms are scratched and itching, my hands are sore, my back aches, my face is glowing. I'm a filthy dirty mess and my fingernails are black, but I wouldn't have it any other way (well, if I'm honest, a couple more hours sleep last night would have been nice). Everything I do makes me realise how much I still have to do but as long as I concentrate on growing stuff to eat and attracting bees - and not on keeping things tidy - I should be okay.

I've also enjoyed a day off from the news media. The little I picked up on this morning and overheard at lunchtime has made me glad I've been outside.

Tess came home from school and played in the garden, and then this evening she planted some sunflower and strawberry seeds in coir pellets.

Spent the evening making lasagne, doing an online grocery shop and am now feeling absolutely shattered and very boring!
