Colinton Road
Still tying up the loose ends of the longest ever tennis match 10 days ago. Her lad returned to London, leaving 4 raffle prizes unclaimed to be delivered to the luck winners.
I'd got in touch with Rene* to give her the good news and arrange delivery of her prize.
So after work today, we headed off with the prize to darkest Colinton. A very pleasant early evening, so it wiz. A head wind, sure. But coming home down hill will add in the wheeeeee! factor nicely.
We turned into ****** Avenue and after me fucking up the house number, we finally pressed the prize into the hands of the winner.
Stopping briefly for cold water at Scotmid, we set about heading homewards to get the butternut squash in to roast for dinner.
Something at the back of my mind told me we could avoid the busy road and sneak along Patie's Road so I slowed a bit and consulted Strava...just as the Cigs van swept past heading towards town!!! I'd given up hope of seeing it again... it was most recently spotted from a tram, parked on Russell Road, and since then I'd not seen it there or at Shandon where it used to reside! I figured it was so old, it had been scrapped.
As I had the phone in hand I tried to take a shot and then gave chase, hoping the junction at the top of the hill might slow it for a better shot, but no....
It turned right so I'm wondering if its moved to Oxgangs, Colinton Mains or Fairmilehead. Blippers of South Edinburgh, if you'd be so good as to keep your eyes peeled I'd be very grateful.
