Geraniums
My garden is full of these geraniums, in fact they have kind of taken over the beds and need to be thinned out. We have decided that this is one of the worst summers we can remember - it has been wet, cool at times and with such changeable weather every day it could be April. Today we had glorious sunshine and blue skies one minute and then lashing down rain the next, really crazy weather for August. Our garden is not looking it's best, we have had awful slugs this year for the first time and some plants we had last summer have not appeared this summer - and everything is looking a bit too waterlogged. The front of the house is lovely where we have enormous Annabelle hydrangeas forming a border across the front of the house, they have huge white heads and make quite a show, but the back garden is missing many of the usual flowers other than geraniums which we have an excess of.
Today I went to the hairdresser - Covid safety measures were in place as usual, masks to be worn etc - in my experience most businesses, restaurants/cafes and shops still request these safety measures despite it no longer being a government requirement. And when it was a government requirement those who did not want to comply with the rules never did, so things are not that much different now.
Once again it is the weekend and tonight Gavin and I are going out for dinner to a local pub.
