Evening at the Ballpark!
Thursday
Laura is currently picking up a lot of hours at the tutoring centre as they are in the interim phase between summer and term time, with some of the tutors who are full time teachers having returned to school to set up their classrooms, while most of the students don’t return to school for a couple of weeks, so the tutoring centre is open from 9am till 8 pm. So it was just Roger and I going walking at Fernald this morning. (See extra) In the afternoon I did some laundry, reading and knitting - well not strictly speaking knitting, but doing the fringe for one of my prayer shawls. In the evening, the three of us went downtown to the baseball game, Cincinnati Reds against the Pittsburgh Pirates. We got there early, so went for a short walk along the river first. It’s years since Laura had been to a ball game, since she has been living out of the country for so long, and of course we didn’t go last year, so it was nice to be back. The Reds scored one run in the first innings, then 6 in the second! I think it was the fifth inning before the Pirates got something on the board, scoring 4, and then the rest of the game was fairly uneventful, with a final score of 7-4 to the Reds. A fun evening!
