A Miracle

No other word for it. 

We've had a tense relationship with the Brazilian priest that replaced our friend, Padre Luís, ever since he came, not helped by pandemic restrictions. Encouraged by the folk who support us, we invited him (by email as never seem to be able to talk to him) for a meal, and at last he accepted, and tonight was the night.

I spent a good part of the day cooking my best Brazilian food, washed down with an Alentejano red, and the conversation flowed. We found out we have a lot in common, and he realized we're not in competition. He ended by repeating several times, "This will be the first of many."

May it be so.
