Not In MY Back Yard......
I WISH....but no, the rose is in the park down at the harbour..It looked a bit lonely, but was not yet the last rose of summer.. there were still a few struggling to bloom. But the summer is indeed beginning to fade...
In MY garden, not much is happening...not a rose in sight. Nothing worthy of a blip. I am pretty much down to phlox and cone flower now, and a whole lot of overgrown vines, shrubs and weeds.
BUT....news flash...Help is on the way! I have found a gardener - well, two gardeners - a husband and wife team who do lawn and garden care! Unfortunately they cannot take me on as a regular client for the season as they are fully booked for that, but they will take me on as a one-time project and whip my gardens into shape! Imagine! Lawn rescue, pruning, and weeding..Can this be true? Thistles be gone! Gout weed? Look out! Creeping Charlie?..you're a goner! The work started today with lawn care. The first garden session will start in two weeks. If you are a weed, that is going to be a very very bad day!
I have my friend Pat to thank. She found me the contact for the gardeners. We celebrated that this morning over coffee and cake while watching Canada's Women's Soccer Team win the Olympic GOLD medal! Two overtimes and then penalty kicks? Pressure or what? Did I mention it was the GOLD medal?
What an absolutely wonderful day!
