Dancing to a different drum

These you may recognise as the cones of an Isopogon, that gets its common name (Drumsticks) from the way they do indeed resemble drumsticks. If the plant is burnt - as this was last year - or dies, the cones break up and their scales (tufted with the white fur you can see on some here) fly off to start a new generation.
The starkness of the cones I really like, and I'll try to remember to blip a bush in flower later on.
