WILSON HAS A CHAT

Wilson has been getting to know Passing Clouds a little better.
She has a lot of very strong views – not least about the correct plural of 'octopus'.
For a start, she doesn't believe that the plural of octopus is either octopuses or octopi, and as for octopodi she actually burst out laughing – in a mirthless, derisory kind of way.
Instead she maintains that the collective noun for octopus is 'octopus' in the same way that the plural of sheep is 'sheep'.
Although she in no way wishes to be associated with sheep, which she describes as 'Fluffy, stupid, four-legged, one-brained morons!'
I don't think I'll ask her opinion of humans… or anteaters, come to that.
Her entrenched opinions must come from having so many brains herself, I suppose…
