Keeping warm
Major storm and heavy rains during the night meant that temperatures dropped significantly. I don't usually sleep with any covers, but I had to pull the quilt out of the draw. This morning, the security was still wearing his overcoat. Even though the sun was well up in the sky at 08:30, the temperature had plummeted to the mid 70's.
The temperature had a severe effect on the bug life too. I was able to stroke a dragonfly for several seconds before it reluctantly took to flight and looked very arthritic, lacking its usual zip and aerobatic panache.
The pickings were very slim, but I spotted these two weevil type bugs, doing their best to keep warm. Another in the unblipped bug series.
