Wind, south east, backing north east overnight

Up at 4.14 am!   Gave Karen a run through to Stromness at 10.30 as her buggy is off the road.  Happened to meet Alan today, he is part of the Orkney diaspora*.  He has come up from Plymouth to help organise helping his mother go into care in Kirkwall.  We exchanged notes. 

Last night CMC indicated there’s little point in saving money; she gave me sanction to buy myself a treat.  So in Wisharts I bought myself some creosote, felt tacks, turpentine, tin of paint and a paint brush.  Hedonism unleashed.

Sadly, in the front field, I found a dead hare.  Not a mark on it.
