The Feeder Flight Challenge was delayed today and rescheduled for Sunday morning and we hope to see Team Hummers in action tomorrow morning. Team Clearwing's members  were seen voicing their frustration today in their practice flights buzzing to each other as they angrily flew around the deck once they heard about the cancellation. It was a last minute decision made by the Refs who felt the Feeders needed a cleaning and refill and did not fee they were safe.
So today we bring you a late update on the last event in the  Bug-tathlon. We had hoped to see Bella Bumblebee in the Timed Flight event but she was sidelined by a sore tongue. Her team mate Kendra "Karate Kid" Brown Belted Bumblebee replaced her . The excitement was palpable in the stadium as the athletes raced from Pink to Purple Buddleia and back again sipping nectar at each station.  The carpenter bee's entry put on quite a show initially but seemed to slow down at the second lap. Kendra 's speed and size were no match for Carl Clearwing though . They continue to dominate this event  winning Gold again for the second AOG in a row.
This reporter had some friends over for dinner , making tandoori grilled chicken and fresh garden green beans with a Pear Custard tart for dessert. Sincerely hoping that lock downs don't occur again this year because it was nice to see old friends .Mask up, vax up and stay safe! And even as the athletes don't just do it for themselves but for their teams and countries- Vaccinate people! It's the same idea - not just for yourself but for your  neighbors, your country and the world. We aren't out of this till we are all covered .
