Banrock

Well it was like this. I had had a pretty tiring day but I'd gotten a few lingering things sorted. What did I feel like right now? A glass of red wine ... that's what ... with some tasty wholemeal crackers, a nice bit of stilton, some camembert, a wedge of mersey, a couple of generous ripe strawberries. Aaaahhh!

The thing about South Australia's Banrock Station Cabernet Merlot is that it is an el cheapo Australian red. Having said that, it ought to be acknowledged as a monument to wine making. You can buy this stuff for about $5.00 a bottle if you look around. The fact that you can get a wine of this drinking quality for such a paltry price is a tribute to how much the industry has learned about wine making since I first started to haunt Hunter River wineries in the late 1960s.

Anyway it has been a while since I shot a grog picture. I thought I must be due.
