Eccentric or just mad?

I wonder how many other people reject the modern world quite like this!
Yes, it's an electric iron, with it's cable cut off, which is heated on the gas cooker! The ironing is then done on a towel laid out on the table. I have tried, many times, to suggest that this is not ideal!!
