Maries
Possibly the most nonsensical aspect of the last eighteen months (over and above Capitol riots and Covid denial) is the fact that we still aren’t allowed to have tea towels and sponges in the office kitchen. I don’t believe the Covid transmission risk created by using a dish cloth overrides the inconvenience of not having one. If I wasn’t (hopefully) escaping the country soon, I’d smuggle some goods in and encourage a subversive takedown.
Michelle and Sara joined me at lunch for a picnic, which we commandeered a meeting room to do indoors. I found an abandoned coat in a cupboard to add a layer as it was so cool and damp.
As I went back to Trumpington later, I happened upon this old stone mile marker, which I’d never clocked before. Cambridge brims with interesting historical things.
