Red kite silhouetted

Having spent half an hour trying to get a shot of a red kite gliding overhead while the red kites spent half an hour gliding gently and slowly into shot and - as the camera panned - catching the wind and shooting away at speed, I gave up and took this snap of one at rest! My first two photos were very confusing and the shot only resolved itself when one of the two birds flew away and left this one in shot. I think they were probably plotting further ways of taking the rise out of would-be wild-life photographers!
