Greenbottle fly

A lovely sunny day, with very little breeze first thing and a pleasant temperature.  I was on the allotment first thing for some more weeding.  Its slow progress but I'm now trying a little each day.  Late morning I had a dental hygienist appointment a pity in a way as it would have been a lovely day for a walk.

Looking at the theme for Tiny Tuesday ie animal I headed out to the garden and chased a few bees around with the camera but in the end opted for this greenbottle fly that was resting on the hydrangea flower.  It does look rather attractive but reading about its life style is not appealing, I guess it's the adjacent field that is grazed by cattle thats the source of them.
