The Braid-y bunch!
Backblipped 10.08.21
I knew the girls were up when I heard Faith bellowing DAVID! DAVID! DAVID! Fortunately he was already up!
The family stayed with us when Faith was three months old and Faith was a bit unsettled in the evening. David spent ages walking with her and comforting her, and it's as if she has hasn't forgotten as she has formed such a strong bond with him. When we stayed with them on our way to Harris and Lewis in 2019 she stuck to him like a little barnacle (photos in extras of her at three months and with David at their house) This visit is no differently. She won't let him out of her sight and bellows at him chats to him non stop! So cute :-))
After breakfast Lewa took the girls to visit other friends they have in the town. These are friends they met when they visited us three years ago and on taking the girls to the park bumped into another mixed race couple and got chatting. Turns out the woman (V) is also from Kenya and the same place as Lewa. Her husband (D) is English. What are the chances of that?!
They exchanged contact details and keep in touch and also pop down to see them when they are here.
V had offered to braid the girls' hair, it took seven hours just to do Anna's! I am amazed she had the patience to sit that long, but she was keen to have it done (no brushing all the tugs for three months! :-) Faith sat long enough to have one braid put in the front :-) Sharon went to pick them up and as it was later than planned, we ended up getting a takeaway for dinner.
The girls were still full of energy after dinner and wanted to perform surgery on David. He was happy to lie on the sofa operating table and be operated on. This culminated in a hair transplant as Anna wanted him to have braids just like her! I'm sure you will agree, he looks very fetching.
Meanwhile Faith continued to shout DAVID! constantly at full pitch in her deliciously husky voice, and when he responded, rewarded him with a massive grin and a cuddle.
