Never give up...

The continuing saga between myself and Europcar has been resolved thanks to the intervention of the BVRLA, Europcar have capitulated and are reimbursing me for the excess insurance charge that they levied on my car hire in December, which I did not ask for nor did I want it as I have an annual excess insurance policy.

I suspect that once I had informed Europcar that I was involving the BVRLA they realised that they were onto a loser, as it took less than a week for them to respond to the BVRLA and agree to a refund.

I have suggested to the BVRLA that ALL car rental companies should display a sign on their rental counters to the effect "if you are a 'walk up' customer, you will automatically be charged an excess insurance fee of ** per day".

The customer then has the choice to accept or decline this fee.

I feel vindicated, one up for the 'little person.'
