‘Easter Lily in the Rain’

Rain started in earnest this afternoon, so here is an Easter Lily, photographed from the safety of the house.

Earlier, while the rain was merely threatened, went for my usual jog along the promenade at Cramond. 

As I made my way to the start, I came across a group of people with camera phones looking at a bird on a wall.

A bit at the limit of what my iPhone is capable of, and a bit of a mystery what it is (see extra photo). I am no birder myself - any ideas?
