Evening sun

Tonight was such a lovely balmy summer evening that I went for a second walk towards town. Standing resolutely on top of the floodbank, and refusing to allow any humans in their field, was a herd of eight cows and one calf chomping away and basking in the evening light. This one was the prettiest - I think a Jersey? Any cow experts can correct me. Anyway, we eyed each other up, I had no intention of going her side of the fence and she obliged by posing quite beautifully for the camera.

As I write this I'm listening to the Proms. Tonight it's the amazing Aurora Orchestra playing Stravinsky's The Firebird from memory. It is absolutely glorious, terrifying, beautiful. I wish I was there in the Albert Hall.
