Spring On A Plate
Not very spring-like today but it is the vernal equinox.
I took some peas to Fishers Green to tempt my darling Indian Runner duck and its mate with but they weren't there. :( The beautiful blue-eyed goose was but turned its beak up at peas. I had forgotten my memory card anyway.
Spring has definitely sprung on this Villeroy and Boch Design Naif plate, by Laplau the french folk artist. I have a twelve place settings, complete dinner service of this that I bought in the seventies. I just love it, the colours pop and the pastoral scenes of family life with birds, animals and crops appeal to me, having helped to run a family growing business.
Hockney is in the news today for a sad reason, I like his simple style. I have prints of Rousseau's Surprised! and The Repast Of The Lion and Lowry does it for me too.
