shiny happy people

A friend has lent me her "vintage" floor polisher (made in 1961, and inherited from her father in law!). This is the accompanying leaflet - doesn't it make you feel life was simpler then? Or does she look a bit Stepford Wife-ish? The child's expression is amazing.
Plan A was to take this week off work and decorate our sitting room. Life has rather got in the way, but today we began clearing it. We have a decent pile for the charity shop, the rubbish bin will also be a bit fuller than usual. We have demoted our idea of sanding the floor to having a go with the amazing polisher...
