Workhouse Clocktower

This is the clock tower of the the Sheffield Fir Vale Union Workhouse.

It is now part of the Northern General Hospital and contains an art gallery. A lot of hospitals started on the sites of old workhouses. I wonder how many people being treated there now know about its origins.
Its work house history led naturally to the old scary movie treatment.
