The Well

Day off, and what better way to spend this cold 'first day of spring', than down the pub where my friend Rose and I were at lunchtime at our favourite pub in town, the one that has the Brewery alongside the pub and the well underneath full of pure natural soft spring water.

The Brewery sits above Market Drayton's aquafer, a natural water source passing through red sandstone deposits containing reddish coloured rounded cobbles. The old well which at a depth of 20 metres is almost as deep as the milling tower is high and you are looking down it now. Its in the main bar of the pub and gives me the willies when I stand on the toughened glass to look down it.

After lunch Rose and I went to visit another friend who has just had a second hip replacement -B's up and about after only a couple of weeks. She used to play Badminton for our Country in the 70's and has Gold Medals to prove it. She has her hip ops in a Birmingham hospital, where alot of Champion Badminton players go to have their hips,knees replaced??
