Knocked out by the heat

For the last few days we have been staying at my mother in law's on one of the rolling hills of Tuscany and that is where my last few days' blips have been snapped: from her garden (or terrain would be more correct), except for yestrday's dragon that I caught by one of the free entrance thermal pools in the Orcia Valley (which explains the silica blue water background). We made a conscious choice of not spending the August holidays by the sea, what with the uprise of covid cases and the fact that as italians are mainly travelling nationally all seaside towns were destined to be overcrowded. But travelling inland is not easy in the midst of a heatwave -without  the presence of a refreshing sea. Yesterday there was a record 48.8 degrees celcius in southern italy and although we were blessed with only 38 degrees we came back from our daylong visit to small villages and monuments completely knacked. Even if we cooled up in the evening as we lay on blankets under the starlit sky watching the Perseids meteors (and boy did we catch some spectacular falling stars) until late, today we just couldn't face a touristy day. Therefore, me and my daughter hooked up our hammocks under two Magnolia trees, and read until the heat became unbearable  Now we are cooling off inside, fighting with Blipfoto downtime: ergo no insect chasing today!
Note added at 15.50, the temperature has reached 40,7 degrees in the shade. We made a wise decision
