A windy day on the Oa.

After a very pleasant lunch with friends who live on the Oa , we walked to the American Monument , taking ( at their recommendation ) the circular route which had us battling with very strong and gusty winds all the way along the cliffs but which then put that wind at our backs on the way back down.

The views ( all the way to Rathlin and Northern Ireland) were superb and the purple blooming heather added colour everywhere you looked .
