Today's the day ........................ to win - or not?
It's the age-old question.
Five-year-old granddaughter being taught to play draughts by her grandfather. Both have a strong compunction to win - and set very high standards for themselves. Both hate to lose at anything, on any level.
At what point does the one who knows everything about the game, compromise his move to give the one who is learning, a chance to get some sort of a look-in in the game? Is there any purpose to be gained in the aforementioned compromise? It's a tough old world out there that takes no prisoners. The sooner one learns to toughen up. the easier it's going to be for one?
Meanwhile, Lewis the Cuddly Pup, is fearing the worst and that it might all end in tears. He can't bear to look and is pretending to be asleep on the settee .....................
