Chattering kittiwakes

Lots of the cliffs around the south end of Shetland are quieter than they were a couple of weeks ago (as the breeding birds head out to sea) but the kittiwake cliff at Sumburgh Head is as noisy as ever.

Had a splendid walk (from the Sumburgh Hotel to the Sumburgh Head lighthouse and back) this morning that involved going past the kittiwake colony twice.  In fact, I enjoyed it so much that I went back and did it again in the afternoon.
