A Tiny Garden in NE Wales

Aqueduct Ranger

Today I did my first solo session as Aqueduct Ranger on the Llangollen Canal and Pontcysyllte Aqueduct. I'm there to make sure everyone abides by the rules, stays safe and above all, enjoys themselves. Answer questions and help as best I can. I'm also there to look out for any problems such as overhanging trees on the towpath (see blip!) check nothing is fouling access to the canal and anything else that may be amiss. The weather was glorious but the afternoon saw the wind get bothersome which meant boats, canoes and people were getting blown about a bit on the Aqueduct. I did 14,443 steps and rewarded myself with a mint cornetto at the end of the shift.
