Abstract Thursday

Left Dave’s this morning to drive to Chirk castle to meet a university friend who lives in Oswestry! Adjusted seat position was more comfortable and managed to only be about 20 minutes late due to volume of traffic and cyclists on small lanes with double white lines in the middle. A beautiful drive by Lyn Brenig and through to Llangollen. Not been to Chirk before and the drive to get round to the entrance to the park seemed interminable but made it. We didn’t do in the house just round the gardens which were quite sad and in need of tender loving care. Liz is a Gardner and could see what needed to be done

As we arrived they were scarifying a section of grassland to create a wildflower meadows for were seeding it with hay cut from another NT place. This is a photo of the side of the pond which had evidence of being cleaned out and other debris left with it.

Drove to bishops castle via Welshpool again a scenic route and back seems to be okay thankfully! Very delicious meal of hake on beamy tomatoey oniony stir fry with Ann’s home grown beans!

We were going to go out to watch the perseids meteor shower but it clouded over!
