North West Essex
I met up with my friend J and he then drove us to Saffron Walden. I’ve been meaning to visit for ages and wasn’t disappointed. We had a good wander about and found the Museum, which had a lot of the local history. Later in the day we drove on to Thaxted, a very pretty village. Both places have huge churches, much larger than you would expect but both were beautiful.
My blip is the wooden sign outside the Library, which shows the saffron crocuses that gave the town it’s name. The extras show some of the different styles of architecture and the main stained glass window from the church at Saffron Walden
