Looking for the rainbows
We are still trying to assimilate yesterday’s very sad and shocking news, but we are here to enjoy and help out with our granddaughters so finding the bright points in our day wasn’t difficult today.
Grace still works in Bristol and has many contacts here so we came in this morning for the day. It started rather drizzly but we headed straight to Grace’s dressmaker, not far from where they used to live, and then headed to Boston Tea Party on Gloucester Rd for a lovely brunch. Bustling as always but with fewer tables well spaced out and doors open it felt safe.
Luckily the sun came out as we were then heading down into the city to Millennium Square near the harbour. There are some fairground rides there at the moment but also some great fountains perfect for little ones to splash about in. Eda had a great time and of course got pretty wet.
I love this shot with the rainbow effect.
We had tickets to take the girls into the adjoining ‘We The Curious’ whilst Grace headed up to the Christmas Steps for her twice yearly hair appt!
A fabulous hands on science museum with lots to entertain children, explaining things like the creation of rainbows and sand and other more conceptual things like time. We didn’t go into the Planetarium (the mirrored sphere seen in the extra) but I think it could be a future visit as I bought Eda a lift the flap book about the stars which seem to really interest her.
A walk along the harbour and an ice cream then we arranged to see Grace at the Helter Skelter back in the square. They just had to give it a try. (Extra) Eda was all for doing it again not so sure about Grace!
Lots of pearls of joy today but our friend and Corinthian and her family have been much in our thoughts too.
