Apple Apartments

First day back at work in London after a brief paternity leave. Thankfully Anne has plenty of support from family close by otherwise I wouldn't be able to take such contracts.

I enjoyed the flight down. Always live aeroplane cooked breakfasts on BA flights and there was a free newspaper available this time too. I made it into work for 11:05am.

I hadn't booked anywhere to stay, wanting to see if there were any big discounts if I booked late. In the end I went back to Apple Apartments where I was last week, mainly on the speed of their wifi. But the apartment I was put in only had 1.5mbps. And there was no mobile signal. I know to complain these days and was immediately offered what is probably their best apartment. No 602. The photo is a panorama of the living room. There are views of the City and Canary Wharf.

Once I had a mobile signal I was able to phone home. It feels amazing to be a dad again. It is still sinking in - the reality that we have a son! I noticed after looking at the photos I took of him that he may have his Papa's (and Robert De Niro's) trianglular shaped eyebrows.
