The "Bar-El"

This is a shot of Barlinnie Prison.

It has been the "home" and death of some of the most serious criminals in Scotland.

10 men were hanged here for murder. Probably the best known was Peter Manuel, in 1958. The last was in 1962.

More recently it has housed guys such as: Duncan Ferguson (footballer), Tommy Sheridan (politician), Jimmy Boyle (Glasgow hardman and artist), and, probably the most infamous; Abdelbaset al-Megrahi (the Lockerbie bomber).
