Abstraction
It was hot and smoky here today. Up until the last few days the winds had been kinder to us this year than in the past. All the smoke from the many fires went East with the winds. But no longer. I feel for all those people who live in the fire areas. And for those who’ve suffered the smoke until now. Today we could hardly see across the bay and the sky had the gray of an overcast day, which it wasn’t, tinged by the brown of smoke, which it was. I mostly stayed home though I did go out to buy a new dishwasher as mine finally gave up the ghost. Late this afternoon I took Shelly for his X-ray and cat scan in preparation for back surgery. I finally had some quiet time before dinner when I drew and painted this.
