Battling The Elements

On This Day In History
1945: Japan surrender made public

Quote Of The Day
"Moreover, the enemy has begun to employ a new and most cruel bomb, the power of which to damage is, indeed, incalculable, taking the toll of many innocent lives. Should we continue to fight, it would not only result in an ultimate collapse and obliteration of the Japanese nation, but it would also lead to the total extinction of human civilization."
(Emperor Hirohito)

I have never seen a map of Japan like this before. The prefectures coloured red have a severe kei ho (weather warning) in effect. The  prefectures coloured yellow have a weather advisory, with caution advised. The prefectures coloured grey do not have a kei ho in effect. The prefectures coloured purple have a newly established maximum vigilance warning. So 37 out of 47 prefectures in Japan are under severe weather warnings.

The shape of things to come?

So, it's been another day of reading, drawing and playing games indoors. The forecast suggests tomorrow will be the same.

Here Comes The Flood
