I once knew better times

In the paved area in front of the Kensington Plaza cinema is a modified shipping container installed to house musicians and buskers over the summer months. Given the long stretch of warm sunny dry weather it has not been used very much. Sitting in it today, resting from his labour of pushing his shopping trolly around is Richard. Times are hard. On the side of his trolley, partly obscured by the many plastic bags hanging over the edge are pictures of a younger, handsome carefree Richard. The future is uncertain and the Calgary winter will be here in a few months..... but just this moment, sipping a drink and enjoying the shade, he seems strangely content.
