Doomsday Machine

Do you remember the 'Doomsday Machine' episode from the original series of Star Trek?  Where a giant planet-munching machine ate William Windom's ship and unhinged his mind?  This reminds me of a curvy version of that, reaching down to hoover up planetary debris and any careless spaceships.
Also, a multiple exposure that works well in monochrome; it's path side grasses.
