For the love of pastels

Having sorted some fresh sets of pastels in separate boxes (warm to cool colours & also light to dark) I found a little blank pastel book so am adding a new sketch each day just for the fun of it..  I love how the whites and creams show up on this beige coloured background and also the glow that chalk pastels give as opposed to paint.  After 30 years of life drawing, the colours are like old friends.  Do any of you have love affairs with art materials?
