Seriously impressed

Thanks go to John Gravett (ever the instigator! :) for this shot as he drew my attention to this vintage lens. Meet my new Meyer Gorlitz Oreston and first impressions are extremely good.

It is surprisingly sharp (check out the piece of fluff in the spider's web) and and I love the dreamy bokeh in the bee photo. I also love the short minimal focal length of around 33cms. I can see myself using this  a lot as an alternative to my macro lens.  I suspect it is probably more versatile than my Helios lens.

Some of my bee shots from this morning have much sharper areas of flower focus, but fuzzy bees. I though this one was quite representative and it had some of the best bokeh.

I haven't sharpened these at all; just tweaked the colours a bit using curves.
