A reawakening

After watching the excellent series on BBC4 on the American author Ernest Hemingway I realised that I had only read his semi autobiographical novel "For Whom the Bell Tolls" concerning his Spanish Civil War experiences. To right this wrong I plan to work through his short stories and other novels. I like his minimalist style reputedly acquired in his journalist career and his own "iceberg theory" where he wants the reader to find the depth in his stories and not be lead by the author.
