Step Up

My morning constitutional consists of a three to five mile walk. Making that daily journey with me is one pair of shoes at a time. Each pair serves until their soul has been consumed. They are then ceremoniously disposed of in an honorable way. The new pair, with no break-in period, are then called upon and are expected to be ready to step up.
