Out for dinner

This evening we joined our friends A and B for dinner and it is easy to guess what type of restaurant we chose!  They have just sold their lovely Cotswold home ( which I have blipped more than once) and are currently staying with their son while they wait until next week to get the keys to their new home.  We have arranged to meet them then, so that we can see the 'before' until  A works her interior design magic upon it and then enjoy a pub lunch.
In other news: the news continues to come out of Afghanistan, with shocking footage  of people clinging to the undercarriage of departing US military aircraft only to fall to their deaths.  In those cargo aircraft were crammed hundreds of fleeing Afghans, whilst those left behind wait and watch as the Taliban continue to claim that there will be a new era of peace and a return to normal life..  Their words would not reassure me, nor do they the Afghan people I am sure.
