Spinning Wheel

Today we visited an English Heritage property from the Seventeenth century - Boscobel House - which was the place where Charles II hid from the Parliamentarian soldiers after the Battle of Worcester. Notoriously he hid up an oak tree in what was then a forest, and they could not find him. Now it is a lone tree in a field - and not even the same tree - but the house has some fascinating items from the Seventeenth century- including this spinning wheel. It was a good visit!
