Raspberry Jam
I've managed to process all the raspberries picked yesterday,
4kg (plus approximately 100g of squashed fruit cooked separately) I made into jam. Hedging my bets I added the juice of a lemon which, with the pectin, proved so effective that I didn't need to add all of the sugar, only 4.700kg of the recipe's 5kg. The yield was these 19 jars of various sizes, none less than 350g. Despite my misgivings it does taste of raspberries and the colour is good.
3.143kg were frozen, which will keep the Flumlet happy for weeks, assuming he still likes them. If not, I'm sure I an find a use other than more jam.
The other 750g or so...we ate, over two days.
And I've put my feet up.
