Fresh Snow

At 6 o'clock last night our Prime Minister declared a Lock down, to last for 7 days in Auckland and Coromandel, and 3 days for the rest of New Zealand.  Starting at midnight last night.  

I had a nice walk into town this morning, the snow was beautiful.  BUT there will be no skiing in the mountains for the next few days.  The 3 extras are of the centre of Wanaka.  (No cars, and no shops open, apart from essential services .  Yesterday there was one positive covid test in Auckland, and already a day later there are 7.  They think it will grow rapidly over the next few days.  That is why we are in lock down.

On my walk this morning I saw Piano Lady and The Tuner out for their daily walk.  Always good to chat to someone familiar.  The good thing is that we can get out and exercise, there were lots of people doing just that.  I have a jigsaw puzzle out, so will have that to occupy myself for the next few days.  Have a fire going, so am nice and warm.
