Autumn in the wings…..
My day.
Stephen went off to umpire a 3 county school’s Under 14’s cricket match at Rugby School after breakfast.
I then hand washed the undies as our washing machine had broken again for the third time!
(It reminded me of doing the same thing at times on campsites in France! Only everything dried outdoors really quickly in the sun.)
Had lunch.
The repair chap arrived when he said he would. (I got a text this morning to say what time)
Good job we are on a contract plan for repairs.
He didn’t really know what had caused it this time.
But the circuit board showed where the fault had been, not why.
We had a very interesting conversation ranging round a lot of subjects. Including our families.
He’d not long back from a holiday in Spain with his.
I asked about the air travel and how it felt with the other related things that now have to be put in place.
Then it was almost teatime so I went out into the garden to carry on deadheading roses and faded flowers.
Autumn is beginning to knock on the door and more plants are now at the seed stage and colours fading.
It is slightly apparent in the photo, particularly the Achillea (Yarrow).
Now 7.20pm and the light will fade more quickly this evening under the present layer of cloud.
It felt like another change in the weather was on its way when I came indoors.
The cricket in Rugby has ended and the umpire is on his way home.
