The River Cherwell at Old Marston

Down the hospital again today & timed it perfectly for lunch at one of our favourite places The Victoria Arms at Old Marston.

The River Cherwell has burst its banks & the flood plains are swamped - this is the view from the courtyard.

All of the table & chairs which normally spill down to the waters edge have been hastily pulled up the bank so they don't float away .

This is a popular spot for punters travelling out from the dreaming spires looking for liquid refreshment etc. No sign of any punts today however or indeed of Lewis of Insp Morse fame, where they were often filmed having a swift half.

We both enjoyed a good meal & the change of scenery.

Its still quite a cold breeze today but no rain as yet
