Not working yet!

Today's challenge was to take a photograph on the theme "Working".

I was planning to take a photograph of the engineer working on our washing machine to get it working properly again. Unfortunately, I didn't, because he didn't.

Our washing machine, a mere 18 months old, has become extremely noisy in the last few weeks, and I had come to the conclusion that the main bearing on the drum was extemely sick. The engineer came in, spun the drum to listen to it, rang his office and then announced that he wasn't going to repair it, that they were going to give us a new machine instead! I guess that is a good result for us, but expensive for the supplier (although it saves them at least 2 hours x 2 men, which is what he said it would take to carry out a repair). So now I await a phone call to learn when they are going to deliver the replacement.

In the meantime, the machine is still working, but he advised us only to load it half full, not to use fast spin, and never to leave the machine running while unattended - all sensible advice.

Earlier this week we had the dishwasher and the oven repaired as well, because they weren't working properly. I think the house is falling apart.

[Incidentally, if you put your camera in the washing machine too soon after the machine has been used, the camera gets ever so steamy.]
