Home bound
G went to bed last night telling me that Santos had messaged to say he had not been able to get on his flight to India on Monday night but didn't give the reason. This morning we find out why. His wife tested positive for COVID when they did the routine PCR test before travelling. I was, er, really mad. Santos tested negative but sadly does not realise the far-reaching impact of his wife's result. G had spent several hours in his company on Sunday during the 4get-me-not karaoke evening.
He had also been in our flat last Wednesday, so I looked up the official channels for what protocols we need to follow. Fortunately, we haven't been out much and haven't met with friends. We are also, thankfully, not showing any symptoms. The health authority here says isolation starts from the day you were in contact with someone who tests positive, so provided we don't develop any symptoms, life can return to normal next Tuesday. In the meantime, I guess we can get several things done at home.
It's not been a good day. G made this very colourful lunch and a delicious stir-fry dinner. It was great to see the movie "Anna & the King" on one of the free channels. No ads either! No SA meeting in the evening or a long-overdue coffee and cake meet up with a friend who turned 60 at the beginning of July!
